The Korean “Galaxy Corporation” opens its regional headquarters in Dubai to promote the media and entertainment industry

DUBAI, 16 APRIL / WAM / Galaxy Corporation, a Korean company specializing in media, advanced technology and entertainment, announced, during a press conference held today at the headquarters of the National Media Authority, the opening of its regional headquarters in Dubai, in a step that reflects the UAE’s position as an attractive destination for global investments in the media and technology sectors.
This selection comes as confirmation of the integrated and advanced digital infrastructure that the UAE provides and an advanced legislative environment, which has made it an attractive investment destination in the region, as the company seeks to benefit from the growing momentum witnessed by the media and creative industries sector in the country.
“Galaxy Corporation” is considered one of the most prominent global companies in the field of media, entertainment and technology, and has extensive experience in producing content and attracting an elite group of international artists, in addition to presenting innovative performances at major events.
His Excellency Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, confirmed that Galaxy Corporation’s selection of the UAE as its regional headquarters embodies the confidence of global institutions in the leadership of our media and technology system, and confirms that we have succeeded in building an incubating environment for innovation that is not limited to attracting investments, but rather creates with it a new future for creative industries, noting that this presence is a qualitative addition that consolidates the UAE’s position as a global capital for digital content, and a platform from which the latest technologies emerge to shape the features of Informing the future.
His Excellency said that the opening of Galaxy Corporation’s headquarters in Dubai represents a qualitative addition to the media and entertainment system in the country, as this step contributes to accelerating the pace of innovation in the content industry, and enhancing integration between technological solutions and media production, in keeping with the rapid transformations in the global media landscape.
His Excellency pointed out that the project to open the regional headquarters of the Korean company in the UAE embodies the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and the Republic of South Korea, which have witnessed rapid development over the past years, as they are based on solid foundations of cooperation and mutual trust, pointing out that the continuation of Korean companies in implementing their expansion plans in the country reflects the strength of the national economy and the attractiveness of its investment environment.
His Excellency Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi said, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the announcement of the establishment of the company in the country came as an extension of the outcomes of the Bridge Summit, which formed a platform for strengthening international partnerships in the media sector, noting that introducing the media sector in the country during the promotional rounds of the summit last year contributed to opening horizons of cooperation with the Korean company.
His Excellency explained that the National Media Authority coordinated with the relevant authorities in Dubai to facilitate the procedures for establishing the company, in a way that supports attracting quality investments and enhances the country’s position as a regional center for creative industries.
For his part, Cho Song Hae, CEO of Galaxy Corporation in the UAE, said in a statement to WAM that the decision to establish the company in the country came out of confidence in the UAE’s future vision, its stable systems and its wise leadership, stressing that the UAE represents an ideal environment for expansion in the technological entertainment sector.
He added that the company, which is based in Seoul, is one of the leading global companies in integrating entertainment with technology, and produces more than 400 works annually, including content that achieved first place in the world on the “Netflix” platform, in addition to managing a group of the most prominent K-Pop stars.
He explained that “Galaxy Corporation” intends to launch its projects in the country in stages, in cooperation with local partners, with details announced during the “Bridge Summit,” pointing out that the company possesses significant resources in Korea and seeks to employ them in the Emirati market.
He pointed out that the company has plans to establish an innovative entertainment city based on artificial intelligence and robotics technologies in the country, which includes K-Pop shows using robots, robotic sports and interactive experiences, which will contribute to attracting visitors from different parts of the world throughout the year.
He stressed that the company will work to develop content tailored to the region, including producing works in cooperation with Arab artists and creators, in addition to launching artistic models inspired by K-Pop in the Middle East, in a way that enhances cultural exchange and supports creative industries in the country.
“Galaxy Corporation” was established in 2019, and operates across four main axes, including media, intellectual property, trade, and technology, relying on solutions based on artificial intelligence. It succeeded in raising investments exceeding 180 billion won, and its market value reached about one trillion won, making it classified as a “unicorn” startup.
The company is expanding into the UAE through a joint project called “Galaxy ME,” which focuses on developing innovative solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and intellectual property, thus enhancing its presence in the Middle East markets.
