" Free Sharjah Publishing City" She concludes her post with" Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026"

Bologna – Italy, April 17, 2020 – Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone concluded its participation in the 63rd edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026, which was held at the Bologna Exhibition Center in Italy.

Participation included a professional program that brought together about 1,500 exhibitors from 90 countries and regions and strengthened the exhibition’s position as a major international platform for exchanging rights and building business opportunities in the sectors of publishing, licensing, and content intended for children and young people.

Sharjah Publishing City’s participation in the exhibition witnessed the holding of a series of professional meetings with publishers, rights agents, and companies operating in the creative industries, aimed at introducing the investment environment it provides to publishers and entrepreneurs and discussing opportunities to establish new businesses or expand the presence of existing companies from Sharjah to regional and global markets.

Saif Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, said: “Through our participation in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, we worked to open direct channels of communication with international partners and introduce the world-class capabilities that Sharjah provides for business establishment and growth. We reviewed our efforts in developing an attractive system for publishers and entrepreneurs and expanding their opportunities to reach new markets from Sharjah and linking them to a specialized business environment that supports publishing, printing, distribution and related services provided by the emirate, especially for creative industries related to children.”

Sharjah Publishing City’s participation in the exhibition gained exceptional importance based on the broad professional structure it provides this year, which included organizing the “Bologna Book Plus” events dedicated to general publishing and the “Bologna Trademark/Children’s Licensing Exhibition” concerned with trademarks and content directed at children and adolescents, in addition to the “Bologna International Days for Licensing Children’s Content and Media”, which witnessed the participation of more than 80 speakers from the sectors of publishing, licensing, audiovisual production and games.

The “Bologna Global Rights Exchange Platform” provides an additional space for rights, distribution and licensing meetings, as it brings together publishers, agents and content companies throughout the year and provides tools for holding and scheduling meetings directly through the platform.

In its meetings, the city highlighted that it is the first free zone in the world dedicated to the publishing sector and the solutions it provides for establishing businesses and support services that include full foreign ownership and more than 2,000 business activities, in addition to work facilities and support services designed to meet the needs of emerging and existing companies.

Through this participation, the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone continues to present Sharjah as a practical base for publishers and creative companies wishing to expand, benefiting from its partnerships with publishing institutions and government bodies and from its location affiliated with the Sharjah Book Authority, which supports creativity and distribution locally and internationally.
