Abdullah bin Zayed discusses with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands bilateral relations and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tom Berendsen.

During the meeting, developments in the situation in the region were discussed, and the serious repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile and terrorist attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of sisterly and friendly countries, and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability, in addition to their impact on the security of international navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.

During the meeting, Tom Berendsen reiterated his country’s solidarity with the UAE in taking all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, preserve its security and territorial integrity, and ensure the security of its citizens, residents and visitors.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated Tom Berendsen’s visit, which embodies the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, and also reflects his country’s full solidarity with the UAE in the wake of this Iranian terrorist aggression.

The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in the regional situation, especially with regard to the recent announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, where they discussed the importance of strengthening international efforts aimed at consolidating the foundations of security, stability and peace in the region.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Tom Berendsen discussed a number of files of common interest related to bilateral relations, and ways to develop them and expand their horizons in various sectors, in a way that achieves mutual interests and brings goodness and development to the peoples of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State Lana Zaki Nusseibeh and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Science and Advanced Technology Imran Sharaf Al-Hashemi.
