Doha, April 23 / WAM / Al-Shababi, with its emblem, crowned the presidential camel, led by the eminent Sultan Muhammad Al-Wahaibi, with the golden dagger in the open lap of Al-Lakaya Al-Qa’dan today in the first symbol competition for major institutions related to the camel of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs, within the competitions of the sixth day of the annual closing festival of purebred Arabian camels, on the sword of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar.
“Al-Shabab” excelled in the competition and succeeded in covering the distance of 5 kilometers, recording 7:19:74 minutes, while “Leadership” of Hajin Al-Shahaniya won the title of the first main race of the Al-Abkar Open, led by Al-Madhamar Salem bin Faran Al-Marri.
Hamid Al Nuaimi, the official spokesman for presidential camel racing, stressed that the ongoing achievements in all forums are the culmination of the support and attention of the wise leadership, and the follow-up of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, President of the Camel Racing Federation, and the keenness to enhance interest in this heritage sport, provide all the data to organize its tournaments and events, and participate in the festivals held in a number of sisterly and friendly countries.
Al Nuaimi pointed out that these achievements confirm the great development witnessed by this traditional sport, and the interest it receives, in addition to the diversity of titles achieved by the presidential camels in various tracks, confirming that they are the difficult number in racing, with the capabilities, capabilities and sustainable support they possess, which puts them in the lead, and confirms the position of the UAE in camel racing, and its ability to compete and reach the first positions.
