An Emirati-Moroccan agreement to develop basketball and launch a tournament "Super" Annual
Rabat, April 27 / WAM / The UAE Basketball Association concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation, with the aim of developing the game in the two countries and exchanging technical and administrative expertise in its various fields.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the African Basketball League competitions currently being held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, in a step that strengthens Arab sports relations and opens broader horizons for joint cooperation.
Under the agreement, the two sides announced the launch of an annual match under the name “Emirati-Moroccan Super,” bringing together the basketball champions of the two countries, which contributes to raising the level of competitiveness and strengthening ties between players and fans, to be a prominent annual sporting event.
The UAE Basketball Association explained, in a statement, that the partnership includes organizing advanced training courses to qualify coaches and referees, holding friendly matches and joint training camps between teams and clubs, in addition to exchanging logistical support during international participations, which contributes to developing the level of the game.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Abdel Latif Nasser Al Fardan, President of the Emirates Basketball Federation, and his counterpart Idriss Chraibi, President of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation, in the presence of Val Gallo Amadou, President of the African Basketball League, Abdel Raouf Ben Taleb, Secretary General of the Moroccan Federation, Rashed Abdallah Al Naqbi, Director of the National Teams, and Dr. Mounir Ben Slimane, Technical Director of the Emirates Basketball Federation, in addition to members of the Executive Office of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation.
This agreement embodies a new step towards strengthening the presence of Emirati and Moroccan basketball on the continental and international arenas.
