Egypt faces Russia at the end of next May in preparation for the World Cup

The Egyptian national team will face its Russian counterpart in a friendly match on May 28 in preparation for participating in the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, according to what the Egyptian Football Association announced on Tuesday.
Egyptian national team director Ibrahim Hassan told Agence France-Presse: “It was agreed to face Russia in a friendly manner on May 28, with the match being held at Misr Stadium in the New Administrative Capital.”
He added: “The team will then travel to a closed camp in the United States of America starting on May 30, including a final friendly match against Brazil in Ohio on June 6.”
He continued: “We are waiting for the end date of the Egyptian League matches to determine the start date for the local camp, which will be held at the National Teams Center in 6th of October City, with the professional players joining in succession immediately after the end of the season for each of them.”
