The Dubai Cultural Preservation Committee honors individuals in appreciation of their community initiatives

The Steering Committee for Preserving the Civilized Appearance of the City of Dubai praised the cultural role of a group of individuals and their positive initiatives, as they participated in supporting water drainage operations in a number of the emirate’s streets as part of Dubai’s distinguished experience in dealing with the repercussions of the recent air depression. They contributed to facilitating traffic movement, reporting damage to some sidewalks, and strengthening environmental conservation efforts.
The committee thanked the citizen Ahmed Nasser Lootah, who turned the yard of his house in the Muhaisnah First area into a driveway, to help drivers avoid passing through streets where rainwater had accumulated. It also thanked the student Mohammed Al Duhail, Ahmed Ali Zulfiqar, an employee at Talabat Company, and Azeem Fayez Mohammed Fayez, an employee at Kita Company, for their high sense of social responsibility and initiative during the low weather, as they took the initiative to support efforts to drain water and maintain the safety of roads.
The committee expressed its appreciation for the initiative of resident Maria Sky, who was keen to report damage to a sidewalk through the (Dubai Now) application so that the damage could be repaired immediately. The committee praised the efforts of resident Almir Majek, who uses his accounts on social media platforms to promote Dubai’s initiatives to prevent noise in the streets and his keenness to preserve the environment, stressing that these initiatives represent a model of civilized behavior on which Dubai is based.
The Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, the Vice-Chairman of the Steering Committee for Preserving the Civilized Appearance of the City of Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, the Director-General of Dubai Municipality, and a member of the Committee, Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, honored those who initiated their efforts, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Steering Committee for Preserving the Civilized Appearance of the City of Dubai, Saeed Al-Nazari.
Al Tayer stressed that the initiatives of the honorees reflect community awareness and awareness of the importance of the individual’s role in supporting institutional efforts, and constitute an advanced model of integration between government and community efforts, and highlight the level of responsibility among community members, noting that these initiatives contribute to preserving the infrastructure and sustaining its operational efficiency.
He said: “We value these initiatives that reflect the spirit of cooperation and solidarity in Dubai society, and we affirm that every individual can be an active partner in preserving the civilized appearance of Dubai, the safety of roads, and the smooth flow of traffic, thus enhancing the quality of life in the emirate.”
Al Tayer added: Building resilient cities capable of dealing with climate factors depends, in addition to the efficiency of the infrastructure, on the readiness of the community and its positive interaction, which is clearly evident in society, and Dubai is steadily moving towards establishing an integrated global model in crisis management, based on partnership, speed of response, and sustainability of performance, in a way that enhances the quality of life and preserves the emirate’s cultural gains.”
Bin Ghalaita stressed that these models embody the authentic societal values ​​that Dubai is keen to establish, foremost of which is positivity, responsibility, and cooperation among members of society, pointing out that opening water drains at the appropriate time contributed to reducing the effects of water accumulations and helped the concerned authorities deal more efficiently with the repercussions of the weather condition.
He said: “These aspects are part of the culture and values ​​of Dubai society, and represent a reflection of the impact and spirit of the city and its sophistication in the lives of its residents, and how the smallest details and societal practices characterized by altruism and a sense of responsibility can influence collective awareness and encourage individuals to contribute actively to supporting efforts aimed at preserving the civilized appearance and enhancing the sustainability of the city’s infrastructure.”
He added: “Everyone is a partner in consolidating the emirate’s position as an attractive, civilized, people-centered city and the best city to live and work in the world thanks to the societal, ethical and humanitarian models and experiences it provides, which are reflected in the levels of safety, solidarity and positive spirit carried by its residents.”
