The Breastfeeding Friends Association honors breastfeeding mothers on the occasion of… "Family year"
Sharjah, April 30, WAM / The Sharjah Breastfeeding Friends Association, affiliated with the Sharjah Health Authority, today organized a ceremony honoring the “breastfeeding mother” in its ninth edition, in conjunction with the “Congratulations to You” initiative, to celebrate mothers and their role in promoting family and community health, within the directives of the Year of the Family 2026.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of 40 mothers from various categories in appreciation of their commitment to breastfeeding and overcoming health, social and psychological challenges, as well as new mothers, in the presence of Dr. Fatima Saleh Al Hammadi, member of the Association’s Board of Directors, Fawzia Al Amiri – Treasurer of the Association, and a number of female employees of the Sharjah Health Authority and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.
The event included presenting various segments that included inspiring stories and experiences for mothers, health awareness workshops, an exhibition with the participation of supporting entities, in addition to a healthy cooking workshop dedicated to breastfeeding mothers, where nutritional advice was provided that supports maternal health and promotes breastfeeding.
Engineer Khawla Al Noman, President of the Society, confirmed that this honor embodies our appreciation for the role of mothers in building healthy generations, in line with the vision of Sharjah as a child- and family-friendly city and for the rest of the Emirates as well, and our continuous endeavor to spread awareness and support for mothers, extending her thanks to the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, and Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi for their continued support of motherhood and childhood and their pioneering initiatives in promoting family health.
The ceremony concluded in an atmosphere full of pride and gratitude, emphasizing the association’s message: “We support your natural choice” towards a healthier and more sustainable society.
