Zayed Charity Race starts tomorrow in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 2nd / WAM / The Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, will host the Zayed Charity Race tomorrow, Sunday, for the first time in “Meskel Square” in the center of the city, for a distance of 5 km, with large participation by categories of men, women and people of determination.

The local committee for the race completed all technical and organizational arrangements, providing all requirements for the start of the race at seven in the morning, in addition to approving the participating lists from all age groups for men, women and people of determination, and determining its routes, starting from Meskel Square and arriving there at the conclusion of the competition, to crown the winners in first places.

The committee announced the allocation of large financial prizes to the winners, in the national currency “Ethiopian birr”, where the first place holder in each category, men and women, will receive an amount of 600,000, while the second in the two categories will receive the amount of 250,000, the third in the two categories will receive 175,000, the fourth in the two categories will receive 110,000, the fifth in the two categories will receive 87,500, and the sixth The winner of the two categories received 70,000, the seventh winner of the two categories received 60,000, the eighth winner of the two categories received 55,000, the ninth winner of the two categories received 50,000, and the tenth winner of the two categories received 40,000.

The organizing committee specified other prizes for the winners from the 11th to the 40th places in the two categories, at a value of 20,000, and other financial prizes for the People of Determination category from the first to the 43rd place in the two categories, at a value of 50,000, explaining that the total number of prizes reaches 3,790,000, including 1,897,500 for women in all categories, and 1,897,500 for men, while the total number of prizes is 3,790,000. People of determination 2,150,000.

Participants from the UAE stressed the importance of the event, with its solid humanitarian values ​​and principles that call on the community to interact with it and participate in its various activities that travel around the world. They said that the race is a fundamental pillar of humanitarian work, and enhances the UAE’s global standing in providing inspiring initiatives and adopting activities that contribute to providing assistance to patients and support to hospitals.

Contestant Abdullah Suroor Al Zaabi explained that his presence in Ethiopia to participate in the Zayed Charity Race is a humanitarian and sporting initiative that confirms the UAE’s position in supporting patients and charitable projects that enhance health and safety for communities around the world, especially since the race has a great global standing.

Contestant Saleh Al Hammadi indicated that they came to Addis Ababa to confirm interaction with various Emirati initiatives, and to enhance the success of this race, with its legacy and great standing in the world.

Contestant Bakhit Mohammed Al Kaabi said that the Zayed Charity Race carries the UAE’s humanitarian message, especially since they saw great interest in the race from all segments of local society. Contestant Abdul Rahman Saleh also pointed out that the race is not just a sports competition, but rather a message of love, cooperation, and humanitarian giving from the UAE to the world, as an extension of a solid humanitarian legacy, and an embodiment of the wise leadership’s approach to charitable and humanitarian work.
