The ceasefire with Iran still exists

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stressed on Tuesday that the ceasefire is still in place despite some Iranian strikes and the ongoing US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Hegseth confirmed previous statements by General Dan Kean, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, saying: “No, the ceasefire has not ended.”
US forces guided commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz today, and the first two ships, commercial ships flying the American flag, sailed through the Strait without sustaining damage.
Kane stated that destroyers equipped with guided missiles were standing in the safe passage of the main waterway for transporting oil and gas, as well as more than 100 fighters and 15,000 soldiers.
Hegseth indicated that the forces prefer a peaceful effort to “guide” more than 22,500 sailors stranded on board more than 1,550 ships out of the Gulf, but they are ready if change is required.
He added: “It is a temporary mission for us. We expect the world to intervene.”
