"Emirates Gifted Care" Celebrates"Arab Intellectual Property Day" With Arab and international participation
Dubai, 8 May / WAM / Next Monday, the Emirates Association for the Gifted and Talented will celebrate the sixth edition of the “Arab Intellectual Property Day”, launched by the Union of Arab Creators, a member of the United Nations, coinciding with the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, in a scene that reflects the advanced position that the UAE has come to occupy as an incubator of creativity and a global platform for innovation and the preservation of intellectual rights.
Participating in the celebration, which is being held at the Police Club in Dubai, is the Arab Creative Union, and a high-level elite of experts, specialists, and intellectual, legal, and sports figures from various Arab countries and international institutions.
Organizing the event comes within the framework of the Association’s continuing efforts to support creators and innovators, and to establish a culture of intellectual property protection in Arab society.
Journalist Dr. Ahmed Nour, President of the Union of Arab Creatives and Arab Media Professionals, confirmed that Dubai’s embrace of this unique Arab event embodies the emirate’s civilized vision of building an economy based on knowledge and innovation, and confirms its pioneering role in providing an integrated environment that embraces creative energies and protects the rights of those with intellect and innovation.
He pointed out that intellectual property is no longer just a legal framework for protecting rights, but has become one of the most important strategic engines for sustainable economic and social development, because of the added value it represents in supporting creative industries and enhancing the competitiveness of Arab societies in the modern global economy.
He added that the event seeks to establish a culture of respect for intellectual property rights and raise the level of community awareness of its importance, in addition to opening new horizons for creatives, innovators and entrepreneurs to invest in their ideas and transform them into sustainable development projects that contribute to building a more innovative and prosperous future.
For his part, Ahmed Al-Dabani Al-Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Association for the Gifted, explained that organizing this event in partnership with the Union of Arab Creators and the Union of Arab Media Professionals comes in line with the association’s vision and mission aimed at supporting national and Arab talent, and creating an intellectual and knowledge platform that contributes to spreading the culture of innovation and enhancing awareness of the importance of protecting human ideas, inventions, and creativity.
He stressed that intellectual property protection represents the true guarantee for the sustainability of creativity and motivates innovators to continue giving, pointing out that societies that respect thought and protect the rights of creators are the most capable of creating the future and achieving comprehensive development.
This year’s edition is titled “Sports Innovation and Empowering Intellectual Property Towards a Supportive Environment for Innovators in the Sports Field,” where dialogue sessions discuss the growing relationship between sports innovation and intellectual property rights, and mechanisms for investing intellectual assets in developing the sports economy and enhancing its sustainability, in addition to reviewing recent experiences in protecting trademarks, media rights, and innovations related to the sports industry.
An elite group of the most prominent experts and specialists are participating in the sessions, led by Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli, President of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association, Dr. Ahmed Saad Al Sharif, President of the Athletes Association, Dr. Nermin Selim, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Innovators and its permanent representative to the United Nations, along with Professor Dr. Mohamed Fadlallah, the international sports institutional and legal strategic advisor, and Charles Shaaban, representative of the International Trademark Association INTA for the Middle East and North Africa, and the media personality, researcher, and sports historian Mohamed. Joker, and Dr. Hamida Abdel Aty, international expert on intellectual property.
The event’s topics address the importance of protecting sports innovation and its role in raising the economic value of sports investments, in addition to reviewing the legal and legislative frameworks related to protecting intellectual rights in the sports sector, and the role of sports media in spreading the culture of intellectual property and enhancing community awareness of its importance.
The sessions also highlight the role of sports innovation in supporting people of determination and improving their quality of life, in addition to reviewing inspiring experiences and successful models of entrepreneurs and innovators in the sports sector, reflecting the vital role of sports as a tool for development, community integration, and creating opportunities.
The event is expected to produce a set of strategic recommendations that will strengthen the intellectual property protection system and link it to sustainable development goals, thus contributing to supporting sports investment and consolidating Dubai’s position as a regional and global center for creativity and innovation, and a leading platform for nurturing creative minds and preserving intellectual rights in the Arab world.
