The Bahraini judiciary issues prison sentences against collaborators with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard

The head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution in Bahrain stated that the High Criminal Court, in its session held today, Tuesday, issued its ruling against two defendants after convicting them of collaborating with the terrorist organization of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, with the intention of carrying out terrorist and hostile acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain and harming its interests. It ruled that they should be punished with life imprisonment, a fine of 10,000 dinars, and confiscation of the seized items, according to what was reported by the Bahraini News Agency “BNA”.
The details of the incident are due to the receipt of information confirmed by investigations from the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence, indicating that the Iranian intelligence services and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard funded and assigned the leaders of some terrorist groups that have taken refuge in the Republic of Iran to monitor a number of vital installations in the Kingdom in preparation for targeting them and carrying out terrorist operations inside the country in an effort to destabilize security and stability and undermine the security and safety of the Kingdom.
The investigations resulted in the first accused, who fled to the Republic of Iran, recruiting the second accused, who is inside the Kingdom of Bahrain, to carry out terrorist operations at home, and assigning him to transport, receive and deliver funds allocated to support and finance terrorist elements affiliated with the organization, as well as monitoring vital installations in the Kingdom and passing information related to them to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Iranian intelligence agencies upon their request, in preparation for targeting those facilities during the sinful Iranian aggression against the Kingdom.
Immediately after the Public Prosecution received the report, it began investigations into the incident, interrogating the accused, listening to witness statements, and assigning technical experts to examine the seized electronic devices. The results of the examination confirmed that the accused had committed the charges against them, and in light of that, the Public Prosecution ordered their detention and their referral to the High Criminal Court, which issued the ruling referred to in today’s session.
The case was considered over several sessions, during which all established legal guarantees were taken into account, including the presence of the defendants’ lawyers and their ability to express their defences, within the framework of full compliance with the legally established fair trial guarantees.
The agency also quoted the head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution as saying that the High Criminal Court, in its session held today, issued its ruling in a case in which one of the defendants was accused of seeking and communicating with the terrorist Iranian Revolutionary Guard Organization, with the intention of carrying out hostile terrorist acts against the Kingdom of Bahrain and harming its interests, ruling that she be punished with life imprisonment and the confiscation of seized items.
The details of the incident are due to the Public Prosecution receiving a report from the Anti-Cybercrime Department of the General Department of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, stating that within the framework of the monitoring and follow-up work carried out by the Department, an electronic account was monitored publishing pictures and coordinates of important and vital sites and facilities within the Kingdom of Bahrain via a social networking site. The monitoring also resulted in the account publishing content that would harm the military, political and economic position of the Kingdom, in addition to the glorification, encouragement and promotion of the sinful Iranian aggression against it. Immediately after receiving the report, the Public Prosecution began its investigations, where it interrogated the accused, who admitted to the accusations against her, and decided that she had dedicated her account on a social networking site to assist the aggressors against the Kingdom of Bahrain, by publishing pictures and coordinates of a number of vital sites, coupled with statements indicating the possibility of targeting them. She also admitted that she had published visual contents and pictures of the places that were subjected to that sinful aggression, intending to glorify it, encourage it, and promote it. As a result, the Public Prosecution ordered the defendant to be detained in custody, and referred her to the High Criminal Court, which issued its previous ruling in today’s session.
The Public Prosecution affirmed that the national interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain represent the highest interests of the state that must be preserved and protected, and that the efforts of any foreign country, or those working in its interest, with the intention of harming the security of the Kingdom or affecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, are considered among the crimes that affect the security of the state, and expose the perpetrator to criminal accountability. The Public Prosecution also confirms that it will continue to take firm legal measures against anyone who commits such acts, participates in them, or incites them, as they are considered serious crimes that affect the security of the country. The country and its stability, for which the penalties prescribed in accordance with the provisions of the law may reach death.
The Grand Criminal Court in Bahrain also issued rulings in its session today, Tuesday, in nine cases related to some people supporting and encouraging Iranian terrorist attacks on the Kingdom, obtaining prohibited vital data and broadcasting it, and photographing prohibited places, in light of the Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain. It sentenced ten defendants to imprisonment for periods of up to 10 years, and fines amounting to 2,000 dinars for some of them, and also ordered the confiscation of The seizures were made, and three defendants were permanently deported from the country after carrying out the sentence.
The Public Prosecution had received a number of reports from the Anti-Cybercrime Department, indicating that accounts had been monitored on social media sites that supported and encouraged the Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, and published vital data and photographed vital places that were prohibited from being photographed.
The materials published through these accounts included photos, video clips, and comments that included support for hostilities, and displayed locations and vital data that are considered prohibited information and may not be obtained or broadcast.
By conducting investigations, the identity of those in charge of those accounts was determined, and the Public Prosecution began the investigation, interrogating the accused, listening to witness statements, and assigning technical experts to examine the seized electronic devices, the results of which confirmed that the accused had committed the facts assigned to them.
In light of this, the Public Prosecution ordered the defendants to be referred to the High Criminal Court, where these cases were heard in several sessions in which all legal guarantees were taken into account, including the presence of the defendants’ lawyers and enabling them to express their defence, until the aforementioned rulings were issued today.
The Public Prosecution stressed that freedom of opinion and expression is guaranteed within the framework of the law, and that the use of social media must adhere to legal controls without harming the country’s security and stability, stressing that publishing or circulating materials that include support or justification for terrorist acts, disclosing prohibited data, or photographing prohibited places is considered a violation of national security and civil peace. It also confirms that it will continue to implement the law firmly and take deterrent legal measures against anyone who violates its provisions, calling on citizens. Residents must be responsible when using social media in order to preserve the security of the country.
In its session held today, Tuesday, the Grand Criminal Court issued rulings in four separate cases that included crimes of violence and sabotage during the sinful Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain last March, ruling that they be punished with imprisonment for periods of up to five years, and a fine of 500 dinars for some of them, and it also ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The details of the facts are due to the Public Prosecution receiving four reports from the competent security departments of the Ministry of Interior stating that the accused were arrested red-handed in their crime at the locations of the incidents following their participation in acts of violence and sabotage that coincided with the sinful Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, and that they were presented to the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution began its investigations by interrogating the defendants in detail, while guaranteeing their rights and the investigation guarantees assigned to them. It ordered their pretrial detention pending investigation, questioned witnesses to the facts, and requested technical reports. In light of the results of the anecdotal and technical evidence, it was decided to refer them to the High Criminal Court, which examined the cases in several sessions and issued its advanced ruling.
The Public Prosecution confirmed that it will not hesitate to take deterrent legal measures against anyone who disturbs public security, or endangers the safety of society by participating in acts of sabotage, and that it will firmly confront all forms of violence and chaos, within the framework of enforcing the law and preserving the security and stability of society.
