Abu Dhabi, May 14 / WAM / Under the directives of the Education, Human Development and Society Council, the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Human Resources and Emiratisation, launched the “Emirates Skills Platform”, in a step that reflects a national trend towards developing an integrated system based on skills, and enhancing the alignment of education outcomes with the needs of the labor market, in a way that supports readiness for the requirements of the future.

The platform comes within a national model for human capital management and development, based on the integration of educational policies with the priorities of economic sectors, which contributes to enhancing the alignment of educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market, based on global best practices.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Education, Human Development and Society Council, stressed that human development represents a fundamental pillar in supporting the development trends of the country, pointing out the importance of aligning skills development with national investments in priority sectors, ensuring keeping pace with the requirements of the future economy, and enhancing integration between economic and educational policies.

For her part, Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Council, stressed that empowering individuals through clear educational and professional paths supports building a cohesive society based on continuous learning, and contributes to preparing national competencies capable of effectively contributing to the development process.

The “Emirates Skills” platform embodies this trend by developing a unified, data-based national framework that links educational outcomes with labor market needs, contributes to enhancing the clarity of the required skills, and supports the development of educational programs in line with economic and technological changes, providing a practical reference that supports educational and professional decision-making.

In this context, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that the “Emirates Skills Platform” represents a strategic step to consolidate integration between the education systems and the labor market, by providing a unified national framework based on data, which contributes to reducing the gap between educational outcomes and the needs of economic sectors, and supports the development of academic programs in line with the requirements of the future.

The platform also contributes to enhancing the clarity of the labor market’s skills needs, and enabling educational institutions to respond to them more effectively, thus enhancing coordination between the various parties concerned, and supporting the building of a more integrated educational and professional system that is responsive to changes. It also supports decision-makers in developing policies related to education and the labor market.

The “Emirates Skills Platform” is one of the first integrated national platforms in the region that directly links labor market data and the educational system, through a unified model supported by artificial intelligence technologies, which allows analysis of jobs, skills and qualifications required, and anticipating future changes in the labor market.

The platform provides advanced analytical indicators about the required skills, future specializations, and priority sectors, enabling government agencies and educational institutions to make decisions based on accurate data, and develop academic policies and programs in line with the needs of the national economy, in a way that supports the building of integrated educational and professional paths extending from education to the labor market.

The platform also provides multiple practical uses, including supporting students in choosing appropriate educational and professional paths, enabling educational institutions to evaluate the alignment of their programs with labor market requirements, in addition to supporting employers in identifying their skill needs, and enhancing the efficiency of workforce planning.

The platform also enables students to build integrated educational and professional paths, starting from the early educational stages, by exploring specializations appropriate to their abilities and interests, choosing the most appropriate academic paths, and obtaining skill recommendations and training opportunities related to the needs of the labor market.

It allows students to continuously monitor and update their skills record, and evaluate the extent to which their educational paths are compatible with job requirements, in a way that supports the development of their skills and enhances their professional readiness.

The platform’s services extend to include graduates and employees, by supporting continuous learning, and providing professional development opportunities and specialized certificates that keep pace with labor market developments.

It serves more than 200,000 students, both male and female, and about 200 educational institutions in the country, with the expectation of developing more than 1,700 future skills, based on the integration of education data, the labor market, and employment indicators, in a way that enhances the building of an integrated educational and vocational system based on knowledge.

The platform provides customized interfaces for various groups, including students, parents, educational institutions, government agencies, and job seekers, in a way that supports exploring career paths, developing skills, promoting continuous learning, and keeping pace with changing labor market requirements.

It aims to support the readiness of students, workers and job seekers for future labor market requirements in accordance with the highest international standards, by monitoring global trends and emerging technologies, analyzing skill gaps, and translating them into practical outcomes that contribute to developing educational programs and enhancing employment opportunities.

Those wishing to register on the platform can download it through the Apple Store and Google Play “Emirates Skills” and “UAE SKILLS”. The platform’s official website also allows users to access all its services, which supports enabling users to benefit from its integrated tools and build educational and professional paths that keep pace with the educational and professional future.
