Completion of maintenance on an ammonia tank in a residential area targeted by the Iranian aggression… and residents return to their homes

The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the completion of all maintenance and damage control work that befell the Gulf Petrochemical Company facility, which was directly targeted by an Iranian march, on April 5, 2026, as part of Iran’s sinful aggression against lives, property, infrastructure facilities, and industrial and oil facilities, which are considered war crimes, which are punishable by international humanitarian law and rejected by international conventions and norms.
She explained that the technical treatment had been completed in the ammonia tank, which the Iranian march remained stuck in, and which constituted a danger, as the repair and maintenance work was carried out in accordance with the highest security and safety requirements followed in these cases, adding that had it not been for God’s providence and the proactive and preventive measures taken by the esteemed government within the efforts and measures made to enhance civil protection and secure the safety of citizens and residents, there would have been massive losses of lives and property as a result of the ammonia leakage that would have extended for kilometers, claiming lives and threatening the safety of civilians in the areas. surrounding, praising at the same time the company’s proactive action by emptying the tank, which is located in a populated area.
The Ministry of the Interior indicated that the return of the people of the area to their homes, after they had been voluntarily evacuated, was completed and that alternative temporary housing was provided for them in the context of ensuring public safety, within a radius of 2 kilometers, which includes institutions and facilities and a limited percentage of the 619 residential complex, explaining that it had taken all safety measures to ensure that no materials leaked that might cause damage during maintenance work.
