“Heritage Pioneers” is a national program to qualify 500 international specialists annually
Launched The Heritage Authorityits specific national program “Heritage Pioneers”, which aims to train and qualify more than 500 nationally qualified specialists annually in the fields of Diverse Heritage.
This program comes in partnership and cooperation with a group of leading international universities and institutions, to enhance cultural mobility and build human capabilities in the heritage sector in the Kingdom.
The Heritage Authority explained that the program is based on four main strategic objectives, which include developing specialized skills in heritage management, enhancing practical experience and linking them to the labor market in the cultural heritage sector.
Distinctive field opportunities
The Authority indicated that the objectives also include Capacity building and intensifying interest in the heritage sector in various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to providing distinguished opportunities to practice field and real work for those enrolled in the program.
The Heritage Authority revealed that the program covers six precise scientific and practical fields, which are: interpretation of heritage and community participation, preservation and restoration of heritage buildings, heritage management and sustainable development.
The Authority stated that the fields also include combating illicit trafficking in cultural property, archaeology and digital technologies, in addition to specialized studies on World Heritage sites.
/>The Heritage Authority indicated that training programs will be held in several major destinations, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States of America, where educational paths will be offered in both “virtual” and “in-person” modes.
The Authority stressed that this initiative represents a pivotal step in protecting and preserving cultural identity, by preparing a qualified generation empowered with the latest global knowledge and expertise to manage and sustain the Kingdom’s heritage wealth.
