Salma Al Marri wins gold medal in hammer throw at Gulf Games

The UAE delegation raised its tally to 39 various medals in the Fourth Gulf Games “Doha 2026”, with seven gold medals, 10 silver, and 22 bronze medals, in a harvest that confirms the strength of the Emirati presence and the diversity of achievements in various sports.

The day before yesterday’s competitions witnessed a remarkable brilliance for the UAE champions, after the athletics team added four new medals to the country’s tally, as Salma Al Marri won the gold medal in the women’s hammer throw competition after recording 52.63 meters, while Mahra Abdul Rahim won the silver medal in the women’s 400 meters hurdles race in a time of 1:02.76 minutes.

Moaz Fawzi also won the bronze medal in the men’s 400 meter steeplechase race in a time of 58.04 seconds, while Alia Al Muhairi won the bronze medal in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase race in a time of 12:08.73 minutes, so that the athletics team continued its strong presence on the Gulf podiums.

In snooker, the national team player, Mohammed Shehab, succeeded in winning the bronze medal, confirming the continued distinguished Emirati presence in the mental games competitions during the tournament. The UAE bowling team also added a new bronze medal in the team competitions, to continue enhancing the country’s tally of medals in the event.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the UAE Fencing Federation, Musa Al Balushi, expressed his pride in the distinguished results achieved by the national team during its participation in the tournament, during which the team was crowned with seven colored medals, one gold medal, three silver medals, and three bronze medals.

He said in press statements: “This achievement reflects the extent of development witnessed by the Emirati fencing sport, and embodies the fruit of the continuous work and great efforts made by the male and female players, in addition to the technical and administrative staff throughout the preparation period for the tournament.”

Al Balushi thanked the team champions for the honorable performance and high fighting spirit they presented in the competitions, praising the great role played by the technical and administrative staff in providing the ideal environment that contributed to achieving these positive results.
