The House of Representatives and the Shura Council in Bahrain condemn the targeting of the “Barakah” facility and affirm their full solidarity with the UAE

Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, received two cables of solidarity from Ahmed bin Salman Al Muslim, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, in which they expressed their deep condemnation and strong condemnation of the terrorist attack with drones that targeted the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.

They stressed that this criminal act constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, international norms and conventions that guarantee the protection of civilian and vital facilities, and a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2817.

They stressed the full solidarity of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council and their full stand with the United Arab Emirates in the face of everything that targets its security, stability, territorial integrity and vital facilities, valuing the efficiency and readiness of the competent authorities and air defenses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in dealing with this attack, and ensuring that no casualties or impact on radiation safety levels are recorded, which reflects the UAE’s established ability to protect its capabilities and preserve its national security.

The two cables also affirmed the full right of the UAE to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty and protect its security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its land, in accordance with what is approved by international laws and conventions, praising the depth of the close historical fraternal relations that bring together the two brotherly countries under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which represents A solid model of togetherness and solidarity.

At the conclusion of the two telegrams, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Speaker of the Shura Council of the sister Kingdom of Bahrain called on God Almighty to preserve the UAE and its people, and to perpetuate the blessing of security, stability and prosperity.
