Trump urges the defense sector to increase weapons production

US President Donald Trump urged senior officials in the defense sector yesterday to accelerate weapons manufacturing and increase production capacity, in light of the pressure caused by the war in Ukraine and the war with Iran on US stockpiles.

In a speech he delivered during the Defense and Innovation Summit in Pennsylvania, Trump urged arms manufacturers, saying, “We have the best quality in the world, but we need more speed.”

Trump’s presence confirms the administration’s increasing focus on defense production, as the two conflicts consume large quantities of missiles, interceptor missiles, and other weapons, while highlighting the limits of US military supply chains and production capacity.
