«Gulf Commodities» records the highest weekly trading volume

The Gulf Commodity Exchange announced yesterday that it recorded the highest weekly trading volume in the history of the stock exchange, as more than 69 thousand and 52 contracts were traded during the week extending from May 11 to 15, 2026, equivalent to more than 69 million barrels of “Oman Crude”, making it the largest week in terms of trading in nearly two decades.
The Director General of the Gulf Commodity Exchange, Raed bin Khalifa Al-Salami, said that this achievement reflects the growing market confidence in “Oman Crude” as a reliable standard and an effective tool for risk management for participants in global energy markets. Since its establishment, the exchange has recorded the trading of more than 23 billion barrels of “Oman Crude,” and has also succeeded in delivering more than three billion barrels.
