Al-Bataeh was forced to involve a defender in the attack at the beginning of the league

Al-Bataeh player, Abdulaziz Heikal, revealed the difficult circumstances that the team went through during the current season, which ended with his team officially being relegated to the first division league, despite its draw in the last round with Shabab Al-Ahly, with a score of 1-1, in the professional league competitions.

He told Emirates Today: “The team has faced many problems since the beginning of the season, most notably the delay in joining some players, which affected the process of preparing the team.”

He explained: “We played the first six or seven matches amid a major shortage due to injuries and absences, and it came to the point of playing without a clear striker, as the coach was sometimes forced to include a defender in the attacking position.”

He explained that the team tried to stick together and fight until the last round, but the circumstances had a clear impact on the team’s results and progress during the season.

He continued: “There are several reasons behind the decline that cannot be discussed in full, but everyone did their best, whether the board of directors, the technical staff, or the players.”

He stressed that the club management supported the team throughout the season, adding: “The players worked hard, but in the end we did not succeed in achieving survival.”

Abdulaziz Heikal pointed out that Al-Bataeh is able to quickly return to the professional league, saying: “The club has what it takes to return, and we hope that this season’s problems will not be repeated, and that the team will return stronger.”
