America extends the exemption for Russian oil from sanctions for 30 days

Washington, May 19 (WAM) – The United States extended the exemption from sanctions for Russian oil transported by sea for an additional 30 days.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent announced this in a post on the “X” platform, noting that this measure would provide the most vulnerable countries with the ability to temporarily access Russian oil currently stuck in the sea.

Besant added that the extension will help stabilize crude oil markets and ensure supplies reach countries most vulnerable to energy security risks.
