Abdullah bin Zayed meets the German Chancellor in Berlin
Berlin, May 20 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Gunther Zauter, Advisor for Political and Security Affairs to the German Chancellor.
During the meeting, His Highness conveyed to His Excellency the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his wishes for the Federal Republic of Germany and its friendly people further progress and prosperity.
For his part, His Excellency Friedrich Merz conveyed to His Highness his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and his wishes for continued prosperity and prosperity for the UAE and its people.
During the meeting, they discussed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various sectors, including economic, trade and investment.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s aspiration to strengthen cooperation relations with the Federal Republic of Germany in various fields, in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and supports their plans to achieve comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the regional situation, and the repercussions of the treacherous Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones.
The treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by drones coming from Iraqi territory were also discussed, one of which last Sunday targeted the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and hit an electric generator outside the inner perimeter of the plant.
His Excellency Friedrich Merz reiterated the solidarity of the Federal Republic of Germany with the UAE and its condemnation of these treacherous terrorist attacks, while His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his thanks and appreciation for the supportive German position, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.
The meeting discussed the serious repercussions of these attacks on the security of international maritime navigation, energy supplies and the global economy, in addition to the importance of strengthening international cooperation to protect sea lanes and ensure freedom of global trade.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, His Excellency Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State, and His Excellency Ahmed Wahib Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.
