“Parkin” applies a 5% value-added tax on vehicle parking services

Parkin Company PJSC (“Parkin” or “the Company”), the largest provider of public parking facilities and services in the Emirate of Dubai, announced, in coordination with the relevant government agencies and the applicable tax laws and regulations in the United Arab Emirates, that it will apply a 5% value-added tax on the parking tariff as of June 1, 2026, ensuring full compliance and transparency across all its services.

What will change?

As of June 1, 2026, a 5% VAT will be applied to the tariff for public parking services operated by the company, including curbside parking, plaza parking, seasonal subscriptions, permits, and parking reservations.

To support a smooth and orderly transition period, the company urges customers to use its official channels as a reference to obtain the latest information, including details of the value-added tax implementation. This information will be available through the Parkin application, the company’s website, and its customer experience center, in addition to the company’s channels on social media.

As part of Dubai’s cashless strategy for 2026, accepting cash payments via parking payment machines will gradually stop as of June 1, with the possibility of paying via Nol card continuing. As part of this shift towards digital payments, the company encourages customers to use the Parkin application for smartphones, which provides a convenient and smooth payment experience, and helps avoid additional costs associated with payment services via SMS.

As the most prominent partners in Dubai’s journey towards growth and enhancing its ambitions for sustainable urban mobility, Parkin continues its commitment to transparency and providing parking solutions that meet the highest standards, in support of the emirate’s residents and visitors. The company also confirms its keenness to ensure that its services comply with applicable regulatory requirements, and to keep pace with developments in the city’s transportation scene.
