المملكة: 25,000 medical services and 1,052 surgeries were provided at the Maternity Hospital in Mecca during Hajj
Makkah Maternity Hospital, a component of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Assembly, providing more than 25 thousand medical services during Hajj season 1447 AH, achieving at the same time “zero” waiting lists for surgical operations and outpatient clinics, in an indicator that reflects the efficiency of operational planning and the readiness of the health system during the Hajj season.
The hospital announced the success of its operational plan for the period from 1 to 19 Dhu al-Hijjah, amid high readiness that contributed to providing integrated health services to citizens, residents, and pilgrims, while maintaining the quality of health care and speed of access to service.
Early Preparedness
The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster explained that the results achieved reflect the high level of preparedness and integration between the various health systems, in addition to the efficiency of early preparedness to meet the needs of the pilgrims and beneficiaries during the Hajj season.
According to official statistics, the hospital provided 25,266 medical services that included various specialties and therapeutic services, as the outpatient clinics received 12,887 patients, while the emergency department visited 9,470 beneficiaries, in addition to hospitalizing 1,847 cases and performing 1,052 various surgical operations during the season.
A specialized system
With regard to the services provided to the guests of God, the emergency department received 305 pilgrims, while 60 cases were admitted, and 10 births of guests of God were dealt with, including 7 natural births and 3 cesarean sections, within a specialized system for health care for mothers and children during The period for performing rituals.
The gathering confirmed that eliminating waiting lists for surgical operations and outpatient clinics is one of the most prominent indicators of operational success during the season, as the percentage of scheduled operations reached 91.7% of the total operations performed, which reflects the efficiency of operating capacity management and responding to the increasing demand for health services during the Hajj season.

He indicated that the hospital continues its commitment to providing specialized and safe health services according to the highest quality standards, in keeping with the objectives of the Ministry of Health. The health sector transformation program contributes to improving the experience of beneficiaries and raising the quality of health services provided to the guests of God and the residents of Mecca.
