The Grand Hajj Symposium today represents a large accumulation of knowledge spanning about five decades, and it is one of the most important platforms that brings together workers in the Hajj system to exchange expertise and experience and discuss developments. The sector is witnessing.
Today we are experiencing a major transformation in providing services, especially during the last decade with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the program for serving the guests of God, and thus knowledge and awareness have become an essential element in the success of the Hajj season.
How do you view the role of awareness in the success of the Hajj system?
Awareness represents the cornerstone of the success of Hajj, and we cannot reach the pilgrim directly without first starting. By educating those who serve the pilgrim.
Workers serving pilgrims constitute approximately 20% of the number of pilgrims, and therefore if we succeed in raising their level of awareness and knowledge, this will automatically be reflected in the pilgrims themselves.
The Great Hajj Symposium achieves this goal by bringing together workers serving domestic and foreign pilgrims and working in a single team spirit to develop services and improve the pilgrim’s experience.
What are the most prominent features of the services provided to domestic pilgrims? This year?
The services provided to domestic pilgrims are maturing year after year, and this season witnesses the service of approximately 140,000 pilgrims from citizens and residents inside the Kingdom of various nationalities.
One of the most prominent aspects this year is the high level of awareness and education, as there is great integration between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the relevant authorities, while the Council reflects these awareness messages through the companies providing the service to reach the pilgrims.
How many facilities are provided for domestic pilgrims this year, and what are the goals that the Council is working on?
The number of facilities serving domestic pilgrims is 177 facilities. The Council has strategic goals and initiatives that represent a road map towards leadership and excellence in serving pilgrims of the Holy House of God through 8 main axes.
The axes are improving and enriching the experience of the guests of God, creating sustainable and educated organizations that ensure the continuation of giving with high efficiency, coordination. Yes, one of the most prominent new experiences this season is the application of frequency transportation for domestic pilgrims, which is an experience. Implemented for the first time, between 12 and 13 thousand pilgrims will benefit from this service, and we look forward to it being a success that will contribute to its expansion in the coming years, because of its role in organizing movement, reducing congestion, and improving the travel experience within the Holy Sites.
And what about the accommodation equipment inside the Holy Sites?
There are several housing models this year, including towers in Mina, developed tents, traditional tents, in addition to European tents.
/>
All of these residences are equipped with the latest equipment, whether in terms of air conditioning, furnishings, or sleeping places.
Arafat’s equipment is distinctive, while Muzdalifah is a temporary rest station where the basic services necessary for pilgrims are available during their stay.
The subsistence file always receives great attention… How is the quality of food monitored?
Sustenance is one of the most important elements of service, and therefore the Council was keen on The Coordination and Internal Pilgrims Services Facilities have decided to form a special committee and a team specialized in quality and food safety.
Proactive field tours are carried out to monitor the readiness of the kitchens and ensure the presence of food safety specialists among all catering contractors contracting with the companies.
Meals are also monitored before, during and after serving, with reports submitted directly to the Council.
And last season – and praise be to God – no cases of food poisoning were recorded, and we strive to To continue this success during this year’s season.
Rising temperatures represent an important challenge during Hajj.. What are the most important guidelines that you emphasize?
We always focus on the importance of the pilgrim adhering to preventive guidelines, most notably drinking plenty of fluids and water, avoiding movement during peak hours, and committing to staying inside the camps as much as possible.
We also stress not carrying heavy luggage while moving, and adhering to check-in times and regulatory instructions, because these procedures It was put in place to preserve the safety of pilgrims and ensure the smooth flow of movement.
What about the instructions for the Day of Arafat?
We always stress that pilgrims do not go out to the mosque or to Mount Al-Rahma during the Day of Arafat, because all locations within Arafat are considered a valid position according to Islamic law.
The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “I stood here and all of Arafat is a stopping place,” and therefore the pilgrim remaining in Its location ensures safety and avoids stress and crowding.
Also, all companies have provided designated places for prayer inside the camps, in order to achieve comfort and safety for pilgrims.
A final word for the pilgrims?
The success of Hajj is a shared responsibility between the organizing bodies and the pilgrims themselves, and the more the pilgrim adheres to the instructions and guidelines, the more this contributes to the success of the system and the achievement of safety for all.
We ask God that this year’s Hajj will be safe. And may everyone accept their Hajj and obedience.
