Tehran reveals a draft understanding to lift the American blockade and return to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian state television announced details of an expected draft memorandum of understanding with the United States, stipulating the lifting of the US naval blockade imposed on Iran, and the return of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within one month.
Iranian television explained that if a final agreement is reached between the two parties within a period of 60 days, this agreement will be ratified and transformed into a binding international resolution issued by the United Nations Security Council.
Despite these indicators, Iranian reports pointed out that the general framework of what is known as the “Islamabad Memorandum” has not yet been fully completed. In this context, Tehran stressed its firm position that it will not take any practical step to implement the proposed items without a “tangible verification” that guarantees the other party’s commitment to its pledges on the ground.
