Injury deprives Germany of the promising Karl

The German Football Association announced that promising striker Lennart Karl was injured and will miss the 2026 World Cup being held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Federation said on its Instagram account that 18-year-old Karl suffered a muscle tear during the last training session, and because of this injury he will miss the tournament.
He added that he summoned Leipzig midfielder Asane Oudraogo to replace the 18-year-old Bayern Munich player.
German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann said that Karl’s injury “does not look good,” noting that he was taken to the hospital for tests.
Karl’s absence is a blow to Germany, as he was one of the most prominent surprises in the German League and quickly imposed himself in his first season in the tournament as part of Belgian coach Vincent Kompany’s squad that won the title.
