The health authority recommended the necessity of creating shaded and cool places, and encouraging field employees to enjoy intermittent rest periods throughout working hours.

It demanded the provision of a continuous supply of cold water and fluids, and the appointment of specialized supervisors to detect symptoms of heat stress early and deal with them professionally.

With regard to workers, the authority directed them to avoid direct exposure to sunlight and high humidity, and to adhere to wearing light clothing. It is loose and allows air to flow.

She pointed out the importance of gradualness in performing field tasks, and limiting strenuous work to the least hot periods during the day.

The health instructions obliged workers to drink water regularly at a rate of four cups per hour even without feeling thirsty, warning against drinking drinks rich in caffeine or high sugars.

It called for implementing plans to rotate workers between sites, monitor health status, and provide first aid for rapid intervention in cases. Emergency.

Thermal danger indicators

The Authority has classified thermal danger indicators into four guideline levels, the first of which begins with the low warning level when temperatures are recorded below 32.7 degrees Celsius, which requires the application of safety basics.

The classification rises to the medium level, which requires increased awareness and implementation of precautions when the temperature ranges from 32.7 to 39.4 degrees Celsius.

The guide specified the high danger level when temperatures fluctuate from 39.4 to 46.1 degrees Celsius, stressing that additional precautions should be taken to protect workers.

The classification reached its peak at the “high risk” level when the temperature exceeded the 46.1 degree Celsius barrier, requiring the application of very strict preventive measures to ensure the safety of lives, and complete compliance with the supervisory decisions of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
