"Stand up" Strengthens its European partnerships

Ras Al Khaimah, June 16 / WAM / The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority (RAKZ) concluded a series of successful business meetings and events in Germany and Finland.
The tours aimed to strengthen economic relations and build new partnerships, in addition to reviewing the opportunities available to European companies wishing to establish or expand their business in the UAE and the broader regional markets starting from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The tour program was topped by a “morning business forum” held at the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Dusseldorf, in cooperation with the Dusseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the German-Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce. The event included representatives of the UAE Embassy in Germany, an elite group of business leaders, representatives of industrial sectors, and investors, to discuss growth opportunities in light of the changing global economic landscape, and explore the competitive advantages of establishing and expanding operations in the UAE.
The meetings focused on a number of areas of common interest, including legislation regulating business in the UAE, advanced manufacturing, industrial technologies, sustainability, logistics, and innovation.
It also highlighted the UAE’s position as a global business center with broad international connectivity, and the growing role of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as a preferred destination for companies seeking competitiveness, operational flexibility, and access to regional and global markets. Germany is one of the most prominent investment markets within the RAKEZ business community, as RAKEZ embraces more than 1,100 German companies operating in various sectors including manufacturing, furniture, industrial equipment, building solutions, electronics, and specialized services.
As part of its European tour, the RAKEZ delegation visited the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Estonia, to discuss opportunities to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and both Finland and Estonia. During the visit, the delegation participated in the “Match & Grow” partnership and business event in the city of Lahti, which was organized in cooperation with the regional development company “LADEC”.
The event brought together Finnish companies and partners from various economic sectors to explore opportunities for investment, international expansion and joint cooperation. It also allowed participants to communicate directly with RAKEZ experts and learn about the opportunities that Ras Al Khaimah provides to companies wishing to expand to the UAE and regional markets.
The events in both countries were distinguished by the participation of prominent investors who are current business leaders in RAKEZ, who shared their practical experiences about doing business in the UAE from Ras Al Khaimah. In Germany, Harald Hoetop, CEO of Claudy, one of the leading German companies in manufacturing kitchen supplies and sanitary ware, spoke about his company’s successful experience in managing its operations from Ras Al Khaimah and meeting the needs of regional markets with high efficiency.
In Finland, Topi Paananen, CEO of Beko Group, highlighted his company’s growth journey in the UAE, and the promising opportunities that the market continues to offer to international manufacturers and industrial companies. These two companies are a model for many European companies that have made RAKEZ the headquarters for their regional operations.
