Dubai Press Club launches the third edition of "Arabic podcast program"

DUBAI, 7 JULY / WAM / The Dubai Press Club announced the launch of the third edition of the “Arab Podcast Program”, which aims to develop the Arab podcast industry and empower young talents with the professional, creative and technical skills necessary to produce qualitative audio and visual content, in cooperation with an elite group of digital platforms and specialized Arab and international media companies.

The program will begin on July 13 at the Dubai Press Club headquarters, and will extend over a period of three weeks, with the participation of a group of prominent experts, trainers, and podcast makers in the Arab world, as part of an integrated training experience that combines theoretical knowledge and practical application, and covers the various stages of the podcast industry, starting from developing the idea and identifying the audience, all the way to production, publishing, and marketing.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, said: “The Arabic Podcast Program comes in its third edition inspired by the great interest that the wise leadership gives to the media as a partner in building the future. The program aims to encourage the production of meaningful Arabic content and enhance the presence of creative voices capable of presenting visions and ideas that touch the interests of the recipient in a modern language that leaves a positive, sustainable impact.”

Her Excellency added: “There is no doubt that podcasting has become one of the most important forms of new media, with the wide space it provides for creativity and knowledge exchange, and presenting advanced thinking that keeps pace with Dubai’s ambitions for the future. Through this program, we continue to support talented and distinguished talents, to empower a new generation of content makers, in line with Dubai’s vision of supporting media innovation, and contributing to a more influential and competitive Arab media industry and reaching its constructive message to wider segments of the public.”

In turn, Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, confirmed that the third edition builds on the results achieved by the previous two sessions, and provides more specialized training content that keeps pace with developments in the sector and the needs of content makers.

She said: “Through the program, we continue to invest in Arab media energies and enable them to provide qualitative content capable of competition and influence,” adding: “We were keen to design an agenda that combines editorial and creative skills with technical and commercial aspects, while providing spaces for application and direct interaction with sector experts, enabling participants to develop their ideas and turn them into viable professional podcast projects.”

The educational path of the program includes three main stages: The first focuses on establishing and building identity, and includes developing ideas, writing texts, and storytelling, while the second stage deals with artistic production and implementation, including recording techniques, photography, montage, speaking skills, and dialogue management. The third stage focuses on publishing and promotion, understanding the algorithms of digital platforms, and building interactive and sustainable communities.

The program also aims to master audio and visual production techniques, transfer expertise and international best practices, and link theoretical training with actual field application, in addition to enabling participants to build their digital identity and strategic deployment.

Widad Kahour, Head of the Media Talent Development Department at the Dubai Press Club, explained that to join the program, the applicant must be between 18 and 35 years old, and be a resident of the Emirates, and have good skills in communicating in the Arabic language and dealing with technology, in addition to having a vision and a podcast project that he aspires to realize during the program period, with the last date for registration being July 12, noting that the completed projects will enter the final evaluation stage before a committee of experts and specialists during Next August, three winners will be announced during the official graduation ceremony, which will be held as part of the Budvest Dubai 2026 activities during the Arab Media Summit next September.

The launch of the third edition comes as a continuation of the success achieved by the previous two sessions, and what they contributed to developing the participants’ skills and enabling them to transform their ideas into professional “podcast” projects.
