China’s foreign exchange reserves decreased by 0.75% in June

BEIJING, 8 JULY/WAM/ China’s foreign exchange reserves recorded a decline of 26 billion US dollars at the end of last June, declining by 0.75% from their level recorded at the end of last May.

The National Foreign Exchange Authority of China said in a statement that reserves amounted to 3.4163 trillion US dollars at the end of last month, noting that the US dollar index rose during the same month, while the performance of the prices of major global financial assets varied.

She explained that a group of factors, including exchange rate conversions and asset price changes, led to a decline in foreign exchange reserves in China during last June.
