Tomorrow, the Arab Reading Challenge will crown the champions of its 10th edition at the UAE level, out of 830,000 male and female students.

Tomorrow, Thursday, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Arab Reading Challenge will organize a massive celebration at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo Dubai, to crown the champions of its tenth edition in the UAE, which witnessed record participation after more than 830,000 students, both male and female, participated in the competitions.
The coronation of the first place holders will also be attended by the Minister of Education, Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, and a number of officials and educators in charge of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative, and those interested in cognitive and educational affairs, a large crowd of school students in the Emirates, and parents of male and female students participating in the qualifiers.
The tenth session of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative, which falls under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, achieved a record participation of 40,286,428 male and female students from 60 countries, representing 138,426 schools, and under the supervision of 161,507 male and female supervisors.
In addition to announcing the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge in its tenth session in the UAE, the celebration witnesses the coronation of the first place holder in the People of Determination category, while the winner is honored with the title of “Distinguished Supervisor,” and the school that wins the title of “Distinguished School.”
The Arab Reading Challenge crowned the student Reem Adel Al Zarouni from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as the champion of its ninth session across the UAE, which witnessed the participation of more than 810,000 male and female students representing 1,380 schools and under the supervision of 2,005 male and female supervisors.
Zahra Hamad Ibrahim from the Emirate of Dubai won the title of “Distinguished Supervisor,” and Atka Bint Zaid School from the Emirate of Sharjah won the title of “Distinguished School,” while first place in the People of Determination category went to student Abdullah Ahmed Rashid Abdullah Al Dhanhani from the Emirate of Fujairah.
Establishing a culture of reading.
The “Arab Reading Challenge,” the largest reading initiative of its kind in the Arabic language in the world, which was launched in its first session in the 2015-2016 academic year under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, aims to enhance the importance of reading among participating students at the level of the Arab world and the world, and to develop creative thinking skills.
The challenge also aims to produce a comprehensive reading and knowledge renaissance, and to consolidate the culture of reading in the Arabic language, as a language capable of keeping pace with all forms of literature, science, and knowledge, and to encourage rising generations to use it in their daily dealings, and to provide them with the necessary knowledge to contribute to building a better future, refining their abilities and personalities, and enabling them to learn about other cultures, in a way that contributes to consolidating the principles of tolerance, coexistence, and acceptance of others.
