Flydubai resumes its flights to Aleppo after a 14-year hiatus

Dubai, July 10 / WAM / Flydubai announced today the resumption and expansion of its operations in Syria, by launching daily direct flights to Aleppo International Airport.
According to a press release issued today, the flights are scheduled to begin on July 20, making Aleppo the second destination for flydubai in Syria, alongside the capital, Damascus, in a step that reflects the carrier’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity with unserved markets.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: We are pleased to resume our flights to the city of Aleppo after a hiatus that lasted more than 14 years. The launch of our daily flights to Aleppo constitutes an important milestone in our network expansion strategy. Our primary mission has always been to support Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub, by providing direct flights to unserved markets.
He added: By operating daily flights to Aleppo, we not only meet the growing demand for direct travel, but also contribute to strengthening economic, cultural and family ties between the UAE and Syria.
The resumption of direct flights provides a vital link for Syrians residing in the UAE and the Gulf region, with a significant reduction in travel times compared to indirect flights.
Hamad Obaidallah, CEO of Commercial Operations at flydubai, said: Since the launch of our flights to Damascus last summer, we have seen strong demand for travel between Syria and the Emirates, and the resumption of our direct flights to Aleppo comes as a continuation of this momentum, providing broader travel options for travelers from the Emirates and through our growing network coinciding with the summer peak period, and we look forward to welcoming travelers on board our flights soon.
Flydubai was the first Emirati carrier to operate daily flights between Dubai and Damascus on June 1, 2025, and with the increasing demand for this route, the carrier increased the number of its flights to three daily flights to the Syrian capital.
Flydubai also recently added Benghazi in Libya and Bangkok in Thailand to its growing network, and is scheduled to begin flights to Pokhara in Nepal from 23 September 2026.
