The lecture was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Kingdom of Malaysia.

During the lecture, His Excellency Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi reviewed the Emirati experience in combating terrorism and preventing extremism, and the vision adopted by the UAE in building an integrated system based on prevention and consolidating the values of moderation, tolerance and coexistence.

He explained that the UAE approach to confronting extremism has witnessed continuous development, based on the conviction that effective treatment begins with addressing the intellectual, social and political causes that lead to extremism, and enhancing international cooperation and exchanging experiences, which contributes to building safer and more stable societies.

He pointed out that parliaments play a pivotal role, through their legislative, oversight and diplomatic powers, in supporting national and international policies aimed at combating terrorism and extremism, and developing legislation that enhances security and stability, in addition to employing parliamentary diplomacy to enhance dialogue, exchange experiences, and build effective partnerships to confront common challenges.

His Excellency stressed that confronting extremism is not limited to security solutions, but rather requires a comprehensive national strategy based on intellectual, legislative, educational and social aspects, and enhances the role of national, religious and educational institutions in spreading awareness and building societies capable of confronting extremist ideology, which is the approach that the UAE has adopted by investing in people, empowering youth, promoting dialogue between religions and cultures, and developing moderate religious discourse, thus establishing the values of tolerance and coexistence, and presenting a global model in building a safe and stable society that embraces more than 200 nationalities.

His Excellency Al Nuaimi warned against exploiting religion to achieve political goals, the growth of hate speech and incitement, and the consequences of supporting extremist organizations and using them as tools to interfere in the affairs of states, which threatens the security and stability of societies, and undermines regional and international peace and security.
