The Ebola outbreak in Congo expands to 5 provinces

The Democratic Republic of the Congo announced the recording of cases of Ebola infection in five provinces, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 1,873 cases, including 672 deaths, according to a report issued by the health authorities.
The report stated that the affected provinces are: Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uéli, and Chubu, noting that the provinces of Haut-Uéli and Chubu were included in the national report for the first time, with the cases in them linked to the epicenter of the outbreak in Ituri.
The authorities added that 763 patients were subject to isolation or treatment in hospitals, while the bed occupancy rate in treatment centers reached 95.1%, while 306 people recovered.
