"Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Smart" Expands its global partnerships with a cooperation agreement with a German university

Munich, July 12, 2017 – Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bavarian University of Business and Technology in Germany, at the conclusion of an official visit by the university delegation to the city of Munich, headed by His Excellency Dr. Mansour Al Awar, President of the University, in a step that supports the UAE’s directions towards developing education and innovation and strengthening global academic and industrial partnerships.

The visit witnessed a series of meetings with Bavarian University officials and representatives of the Federation of Bavarian Industries. To discuss prospects for cooperation in the fields of smart learning, artificial intelligence, scientific research, innovation, and business incubators, in addition to exploring opportunities for implementing joint research projects and developing educational models linked to the needs of the economy and the labor market.

His Excellency Dr. Mansour Al-Awar reviewed the university’s strategy, academic programs and approach to employing the latest smart learning technologies and linking the academic aspect with practical application in a way that enhances the readiness of national competencies for future professions.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Banna, Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab-German Friendship Society, participated in the meetings, stressing the importance of enhancing academic and economic cooperation between the UAE and Germany and supporting joint initiatives in the fields of knowledge and innovation.

Dr. Mansour Al-Awar stressed that international partnerships have become a strategic necessity for developing education and scientific research, noting that cooperation with German institutions will contribute to building a more flexible and innovative educational system and preparing cadres capable of leading technological and economic transformations.

For her part, Dr. Shaima Al Harmoudi, a professor at the University’s College of Business and Quality Management, confirmed that the visit opened new horizons for exchanging experiences, launching joint initiatives in scientific research, supporting emerging companies, and enhancing cooperation between universities and the industrial sector, in a way that supports innovation and consolidates the UAE’s position as a global center for education, knowledge, and technology-based economy.
