"Sharjah Arts" Inauguration "Dialogues" To explore the development of arts locally and Arabally
Sharjah, July 19 / WAM / The Sharjah Arts Foundation launched its cultural program “Dialogues” with the aim of documenting creative experiences and monitoring transformations in the artistic scene, beginning its first sessions in the “Flying Saucer” building in Sharjah with an expanded discussion about the march and development of the arts in the United Arab Emirates.
The opening session of the program was hosted by the Emirati artist Mohammed Kazem, and its proceedings were moderated by the artist Ismail Al-Rifai, Director of the Translation and Arabic Content Department at the Foundation, where the meeting shed light on the establishment of the artistic scene in the country and the pivotal transformations that it witnessed throughout his career.
The program aims to organize a series of in-depth and ongoing dialogues with an elite group of artists, writers, curators, musicians, and cultural producers, so that these meetings form a vital platform that opens broader horizons for discussion on intellectual and creative issues, and contributes to documenting artistic experiences in a way that enriches the cultural movement.
The “Dialogues” program stems from the Foundation’s vision to establish cultural dialogue as an essential space for exchanging knowledge and exploring new horizons of creativity, in addition to highlighting the essential role of the arts in enriching the human experience.
The program also seeks to explore the paths of development of the visual arts, monitor the most prominent transformations that modern and contemporary art has undergone, and restore important historical milestones in the path of the arts in the region, with a focus on the contributions of creators who have left a clear mark in consolidating and building the artistic and cultural scene at the local and Arab levels.
