A partnership between the Arab Cycling Federation and the American University in the Emirates to provide scholarships to Arab champions
Dubai, July 25 / WAM / The Arab Cycling Federation and the American University in the Emirates concluded a memorandum of understanding to launch an academic and strategic partnership at the university’s headquarters in Dubai, aiming to develop sports and administrative cadres in the Arab world.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Excellency Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, President of the Arab Cycling Federation, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of the American University in the Emirates, in the presence of the academic staff of the Sports Management and Sports Law programs.
Scholarships of up to 50% are the most prominent outcomes of this partnership, as they are available starting in 2027 to Arab players who have won Arab, continental, or international medals, to enroll in the Master of Sports Management and Master of Sports Law programs. This step comes with the aim of investing in Arab sports competencies, and qualifying cycling champions academically, to prepare them to assume leadership roles in the sports sector in parallel with their sports achievements.
The agreement provides additional educational benefits to members of the Arab Cycling Federation and member Arab national federations, including discounts on bachelor’s and master’s programs, in addition to providing a 40% discount to members of the federation to enroll in the master’s programs in sports management and sports law.
Areas of joint cooperation between the two sides include implementing training programs, conducting specialized scientific research, exchanging experiences, in addition to organizing conferences, seminars and workshops and providing practical training opportunities, which contribute to improving the professional and administrative capabilities of workers in the sports sector.
The two sides stressed that this partnership embodies the importance of integration between academic institutions and sports bodies, and is consistent with the strategy of the Arab Cycling Federation aimed at building qualitative partnerships that prepare qualified Arab cadres and enhance the sustainability of the development of cycling in the Arab world, noting that the application of grants and discounts is subject to the terms, conditions and regulations approved by the American University in the Emirates.
