Approving the participation of UAE judo in the International Federation’s program in Tashkent

Abu Dhabi, July 25 / WAM / The Emirates Judo Federation announced the approval of the participation of our national team for juniors and youth in the international qualification and training program for the Sunni stages, under the supervision of the International Federation in the Uzbek capital, “Tashkent”, from July 26 to August 5 of next year.

The Federation explained, in a statement, that the qualification program will be hosted by the Uzbek Federation, and includes more than 500 male and female players, as part of the Federation’s Board of Directors’ strategy, to prepare qualified elements who will gradually be promoted to the first team, indicating that the delegation will leave tomorrow for Tashkent, headed by Muhammad Jassim, Secretary-General of the Federation.

He added that 10 players were selected to participate in the qualification program: Mana Al Zaabi and Rashid Nematov (Kalba Sports Club), Masoud Muhammad Masoud, Abdul Rahman Janif, Anas Al Yamahi and Yousef Al Awad (Fujairah Martial Arts Club), Butti Al Hashimi (Khor Fakkan Club), Saqr Al Otaibi, Hamdan Al Mazmi (Sharjah Sports Club), and Muhammad Al Owais (Sharjah Self Defense Sports Club).

His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Darai, President of the Federation, confirmed that the program for preparing the teams for the age groups continues throughout the sports season, and also includes a special program for preparing the player Hamdan Al-Mazmi from the Sharjah Sports Club, in preparation for his participation in the Fourth Summer Youth Olympic Games in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, from October 31 to November 13, 2026.

He added that the Federation, through its international partnerships, is looking forward to developing the players’ skills through international camps with the presence of the most prominent stars of the game, and participation in foreign competitions, which contributes to improving their competitive abilities, refining their skills, and empowering them with the expertise that qualifies them to raise the UAE flag on the platforms of achievements.
