With the arrival of the French general…the full implementation of the International Monitoring Committee began

Israeli media announced that the mechanism to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement will enter into full force on Thursday, as a French general will join his American counterpart to activate this mechanism.

American General Jasper Jeffers had arrived in Beirut earlier and began his meetings with Lebanese officials, amid escalating Israeli violations of the agreement since it entered into force a week ago, which prompted France and the United States to direct Strict messages to Israel. In response to the violations, Hezbollah targeted Israeli positions in the occupied Shebaa Farms, increasing tension in the area. With the arrival of the French general on Wednesday, the mechanism is expected to begin its actual work immediately, with the participation of civilian and military observers from the United States and France, in addition to a representative from the Lebanese army. The mission of the observers is to collect independent information and monitor violations to ensure that the parties adhere to the agreement, with Washington and Paris confirming that they are committed to maintaining balance and preventing the collapse of security arrangements. An informed international official told the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper: “The mechanism will enter into a good rhythm in the coming days.”

According to him: “We are performing our role as mediators and guarantors of the agreement. “We will do our best to maintain balance and ensure that the arrangements do not collapse.”
