The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Rowing Federation adopts important decisions at its meeting
The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Rowing Federation, headed by Major General Sherif El Gomati, held its official meeting on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2024, at the headquarters of the Maadi and Yacht Club on Maadi Corniche, where the board adopted many important decisions that reflect a future vision for developing the sport of rowing in Egypt.
The most prominent decisions of the Council:
1. Expressing thanks and appreciation to Dr. Amr Al-Nouri, former President of the Federation, Dr. Rania Alwan, Engineer Nourhan Mustafa Hanafi, and Captain Hassan Amira, members of the previous Board of Directors, for their distinguished efforts and valuable contributions to the development of rowing in Egypt
2. In appreciation and gratitude to Counselor Khaled Zein, one of the most important symbols of rowing and sports in Egypt, he was chosen to be the honorary president of the Egyptian Rowing Federation, in addition to being assigned to head the Legal and Dispute Resolution Committee, and the Technical Committee, under the supervision of Major General Sherif El Gomati.
3. Appointment of Captain Mohamed Salama as Vice President of the Federation.
4. Forming a financial committee to supervise the financial management of the Federation, and it includes Mr. Ahmed Al-Hammadi, Mr. Ihab Zare’, Mr. Mustafa Abdel-Jawad, and Ms. Heba Ahmed (acting Finance Director), provided that the committee makes financial recommendations on financial issues before implementation.
5. Approval of the renewal of confidence and the continuation of Major General Mohamed Nour Salem as Executive Director of the Federation.

– Technical Committee: headed by Counselor Khaled Zein, Membership includes Mr. Mustafa Abdel Gawad, Captain Mohamed Salama, Mr. Saif Negm, and Captain Ahmed Lotfy, under the supervision of Major General Sherif El Gomati.
– Legal and Dispute Resolution Committee: headed by Counselor Khaled Zein, under the supervision of Major General Sherif El Gomati.
– Competitions Committee: headed by Engineer Hussein Rizk, under the supervision of Captain Ahmed Lotfy.
– Tools Committee: Chaired by Mr. Saif Negm, under the supervision of Mr. Mustafa Abdel Gawad.
– Academies Committee: headed by Engineer Hisham Safwan, under the supervision of Professor Ihab Zare’.
– Clubs Committee: headed by Engineer Medhat Khalil, under the supervision of Mr. Ihab Zare’.
– Referees Committee: Chaired by international referee Ahmed Helmy, under the supervision of Captain Ahmed Lotfy.
– Digitization and Technology Committee: headed by Engineer Ayman Kamal, under the supervision of Engineer Hatem Qandil.
– Media Committee: headed by Mr. Walid Abdel Moneim, under the supervision of Major General Sherif El Gomati.
– Investment and Resource Development Committee: headed by Dr. Rania Alwan, under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Al-Hammadi.
– Medical Committee: headed by Dr. Mohamed Hani, under the supervision of Engineer Hatem Qandil.
– Occupational Safety and Health Committee: headed by Mr. Omar Sultan, under the supervision of Colonel Muhammad Khalaf.
– Women’s Committee: headed by engineer Nourhan Mustafa, under the supervision of engineer Ibrahim Ayoub.
– Youth Committee: headed by Captain Ali Alaa, under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Salama.
– Selection and Guidance Committee: headed by Dr. Mohamed Hani, under the supervision of Colonel Mohamed Khalaf.
– Indoor rowing committee: headed by Mr. Amr Youssef, under the supervision of Mr. Ihab Zaree.
– Shore Rowing Committee: headed by Captain Kamal Hassan, under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Salama.
– People of Determination Committee: headed by Mr. Saif Najm, under the supervision of Engineer Ibrahim Ayoub.
– Committee of Elders: headed by Major General Tariq Amira, under the supervision of Major General Sherif El Gomati.
– Al-Hajjar Committee: headed by Dr. Hussein Abdel Salam, under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Al-Hammadi, and assigning Engineer Abdel Moez Yahya to the Al-Hajjar disinfection file with the International Federation.
Additional decisions:
– Assigning engineer Hatem Qandil to supervise events and festivals And sporting events.
– Dr. Muhammad Hussein Rizk was assigned to conduct tests for players to participate in the International Federation’s development program.
– Appointment of Counselor Muhammad Al-Asyouti as legal advisor to the Federation.
– Contracting with Mr. Magdy Afifi, Managing Director of the National Teams, to continue performing his duties in the Federation, in appreciation of his distinguished career and great contributions after reaching retirement age.
– Opening the door for player transfers between clubs in accordance with the regulations of the Egyptian Rowing Federation, from 4 to 31 December 2024, on the occasion of the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
