The Governor of the Saudi Central Bank discusses enhancing cooperation with the Governor of the Monetary Authority in Hong Kong

The Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Mr. Ayman bin Muhammad Al-Sayyari, met today with the Governor of the Monetary Authority in Edi Yu, within the framework of strengthening the existing cooperation between the two central banks.
The meeting witnessed discussions on areas of common interest in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides, which included macroeconomic developments, monetary policy expectations, investment prospects and global financial markets, in addition to financial infrastructure developments, with a focus on adopting supervisory techniques and using advanced analytical tools.

Strengthening cooperation

The two sides also reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the Saudi Central Bank and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority in several areas, including: financial stability, data analysis, financial innovation, and developing payment systems, as these meetings reflect the Saudi Central Bank’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences internationally.
This meeting came on the sidelines of the general meeting of the Global Financial Stability Board and the Emerging and Developing Markets Forum in Hong Kong, held on December 3 and 4, with the participation of central bank governors and senior officials from international organizations related to financial affairs.
