The reason for taking such a step was not revealed, and the military junta in Burkina Faso seized power in September 2022.
The military rule of Lieutenant Colonel Paul Henry Sandaogo Dameba was overthrown, about eight months after he staged a coup to oust democratically elected President Roche Mark Kabore.
Violence in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso has also been hit by violence that has pitted militants against state-backed forces for nearly a decade, killing more than 20,000 people.
This was according to the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project, a non-profit organization based in the United States.
