The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, said that the situation in Syria is witnessing an acceleration of events and rapid changes, stressing that Baghdad is monitoring and preparing for what is happening.

Al-Shammari explained: In statements to Iraqi media, he said that all our forces are in a state of alert and readiness along the 620-kilometre border strip between Iraq and Syria.
