With the blessing and approval of the President of the State… Mohammed bin Rashid announces a government amendment to establish the “Ministry of Family”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, announced today, Sunday, a government amendment to establish the “Ministry of Family,” with Her Excellency Sana Suhail assuming its portfolio.

His Highness said on the “X” platform: Brothers and sisters. . Based on the directives of my brother, the President of the State – may God protect him – and after his blessing, we announce today a governmental change by establishing the “Ministry of Family,” and its portfolio will be assumed by Her Excellency Sana Suhail, who worked in the field of early childhood and family, supporting people of determination, and other sectors of community work throughout her years of work in the government.

His Highness added: The family is a national priority… and the cornerstone of the journey… and a guarantee for the future of the nation… and the directives of the Head of State in the recent annual meetings were the necessity of working on comprehensive national programs to increase the formation of families in the country, enhance their growth, empower them, consolidate their cohesion and stability, and raise fertility rates. In the country… the new ministry will be concerned with this important national file.

His Highness continued: The family is the solid nucleus around which society rallies. It is the guarantor of its continued cohesion and the strength of its members. Everyone, fathers and mothers and national institutions, is concerned with supporting the formation and empowerment of the family. We look forward to positive changes in this file during the coming period.

His Highness also announced a government amendment to strengthen the role of the Ministry of Community Development and change its name to become the Ministry of Community Empowerment… headed by His Excellency Shamma Al Mazrouei… and amend the Ministry’s competencies and tasks to focus more during the coming period on developing an advanced and integrated social empowerment system that enhances community participation.

His Highness said: The Ministry will work to manage empowerment and social support programs in a way that provides protection for low-income families and enhances their stability and financial independence, in addition to its role in promoting, organizing and empowering the third sector and activating the role of public benefit institutions in advancing the development process in our country.

He added: The Education, Human Development and Community Council, led by Abdullah bin Zayed and Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed, will oversee the setting of strategic directions in family files and community empowerment, harmonizing the plans of the new entities, and linking their directions to education and human development within a unified and comprehensive vision of the human journey in the UAE.

His Highness said: We wish everyone success in their new tasks… achieving our aspirations for these changes… and working in a team spirit between all sectors, institutions and individuals to create a great national team to consolidate the stability of our families and enhance our journey in the social sector.
