The Brazilian president undergoes surgery after suffering a “brain hemorrhage”

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, 79 years old, underwent surgery last night, after suffering a “cerebral hemorrhage,” according to what was announced today by the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital in São Paulo, which indicated that his “condition is good.”

The hospital said in a statement posted on Lola’s Instagram account, “The operation took place without complications,” explaining that the bleeding was related to the accident that Lola suffered on October 19 at his home.

The president, who returned to power in 2023, was injured in the back of the head after falling in the toilet, forcing him to undergo a series of tests and cancel his trip to Russia to attend the BRICS summit.

Lola was admitted yesterday evening to the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital “to undergo imaging after he felt a headache. The MRI showed bleeding inside the skull,” according to what the medical institution reported.

He later “underwent a craniotomy to drain the hematoma,” according to the statement.

The hospital added, “At the present time, the president is in good condition, and is under observation in the intensive care unit.”

A subsequent statement will be issued regarding the development of the president’s health condition, and a press conference will be held by his medical team today.
