Martial law in Korea
Authorities are investigating to determine whether their actions amount to rebellion, and Kim became the first person to be arrested in this case.
In the same context, the head of the corruption investigation agency in South Korea said on Monday that he had issued a travel ban on the country’s president, Yeon Suk-yeol, due to the martial law decree.
The main opposition Democratic Party and five other opposition parties earlier put forward a proposal to impeach the president, claiming that Yoon’s declaration of martial law constitutes a violation of the constitution.
