The United Nations expresses deep concern about the rapid deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation in Gaza

Hadi, who also holds the position of Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, pointed out that several strikes had occurred across the Gaza Strip, killing dozens and wounding many, according to reports, including women and children. He said in a press statement that such incidents are another reminder of the unbearable human cost of the conflict.
Muhannad Hadi also expressed concern about the lack of security in Gaza and its negative impact on UN convoys. And he said: “On December 11, a convoy of 70 trucks from the Kerem Shalom crossing was violently attacked by looters, resulting in the loss of almost all food and aid supplies. At about the same time, a World Food Program convoy came under fire as it was leaving the Kissufim crossing. “.
Hadi added that attacks on humanitarian operations can be avoided, and said: “Earlier this week, through an Israeli agreement allowing us to use the Philadelphia crossing, a joint UN convoy delivered urgently needed food supplies to about 200,000 people in the southern and central Gaza Strip.”
The UN official stressed the continued commitment to supporting the people of Gaza and working around the clock to deliver the necessary aid to families who lack everything after 14 months of war. He said that the United Nations is steadfast in its commitment to support efforts for an immediate ceasefire and the unconditional release of all hostages.
He stressed the need to act urgently to end the atrocities, address the underlying causes of the conflict, and protect the lives and dignity of all peoples of the region.
