A US military base is closed after a shooting in Georgia
The base authorities described it as an “isolated incident,” while the attacker was arrested and taken into custody.

The “situation has returned to normal” less than an hour after the base was closed, the base’s operations center reported on social media.

The shooting occurred in a residential area inside the base, which is located outside Augusta, Georgia, according to authorities.
Information about the victim will not be released until the family is notified, according to Al Qaeda. No additional details were published.
The Counter-Terrorism Service in Iraqi Kurdistan previously said that defense systems shot down an armed drone over Erbil Airport in northern Iraq.

He stated that American forces and other international forces were stationed there, while a group calling itself the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” said at the time that it had launched the drone to attack what it called an “occupation base.”
American and international forces stationed in Iraq and across the border in Syria are on high alert.
