Conclusion of the competitions of the first edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Abu Dhabi, December 15 / WAM / The activities of the first edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship concluded this evening, in its final round, in the Mubadala Arena, amid a large audience presence and an enthusiastic competitive atmosphere.
The final round competitions extended over 3 days, and on its closing day witnessed bouts in the children’s, budtenders’ and juniors’ categories under 16 years of age.

The tournament witnessed five rounds held in various parts of the country during the current year, which included competitions for various age groups within 3 rounds for the “suit” category and two rounds for the “without suit” category.

At the conclusion of the final round of the tournament, Al Ain Club was crowned champion of the suit category, while Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club achieved runner-up position, and Baniyas Club achieved third place.
While the competitions in the category without the suit witnessed the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club winning the title, the “MOD” Academy obtaining the runner-up, while the Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club came in third place.

Today’s competitions were attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Community Development Department, His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Head of the Health Department, His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and His Excellency Engineer Ahmed Mohammed. Al Rumaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Energy, His Excellency Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasiri, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, and His Excellency Humaid Al Shammari, Executive Vice President of the Group and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs and Resources. His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: We are proud of the great success achieved by the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship in its first edition and throughout its five rounds, as it has become a leading sports platform that highlights the development of Jiu-Jitsu in the country, indicating that this The tournament reflects the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s commitment to promoting a culture of excellence, developing local talent, and providing a high-level competitive environment that brings together players and clubs from various parts of the country.

He added that on this closing day, we are pleased to celebrate the clubs whose players excelled throughout the five rounds of the tournament and excelled on the mat and embodied the meanings of determination and persistence. We will continue our endeavors to consolidate the status of the sport of jiu-jitsu, and support the journey of our heroes in achieving more future successes.

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, congratulated the club’s players’ victory in the championship title in the category without the suit, indicating that the insightful vision and great support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, paved the way. To achieve this achievement, they were an incentive for the players and coaches to provide distinguished technical levels, thanking the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation for the great efforts in spreading the culture of Jiu-Jitsu.

Mansour Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sports Company at Al Ain Club, expressed the club’s pride in achieving the suit category title in the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which bears an expensive name.

He said that since the start of the first round of the tournament, we were determined to obtain the largest number of points and win the title, which prompted us to intensify training and participate in many tournaments to ensure our preparation at the highest levels.
